Take a journey through the rhythms of the Caribbean. From swinging Cuban Mambos to the playful Calypsos of Trinidad, from the mellow compas of Haiti to the high energy merengue of the Dominican Republic.
Award winning composer and musician, Alex Weiss, will be presenting 4 classes every Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. beginning April 30.
Class schedule is as follows:
- April 30 (7:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.)
- May 7 (7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
- May 14 (7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
- May 21 (7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
Fee: $50 package price for all four classes or $15 per Class.
Alex Weiss is the music Director for Different Drum the Afro/Latin ensemble and has been a music educator in North Carolina for over twenty years.
Drum classes will be held at Old Havana Sandwich Shop on 310 East Main Street. (There's easy parking in the evenings in the Social Services lot across the street.)
